Training and Development
When you’re committed to making your mark on the world, getting the right start is crucial. That's why we developed the MT Programme. It's structured around the following components.
Induction
Learn about our company, objectives, products and markets.
Functional Development
Develop a base of excellence in your function.
Leadership Development
Develop the managerial and leadership competencies you’ll need for your future roles.
Business Awareness
Understand the overall business and the roles played by each function.
Performance Appraisal
To help you achieve defined standards, you can look forward to regular and constructive feedback, both formally (every six months) and informally (every six weeks).
Our Induction program is your chance to learn about our group’s objectives, products and markets. It introduces you to our guiding principles and culture, the role of each function and specific industry issues in your country.
Functional development allows you to develop a base of excellence in your chosen function. We'll clearly explain what we expect of you. Then, with support from your coach and your mentor, you'll set your objectives and work towards achieving them.
Through formal training and on-the-job experience, you'll develop the management skills you'll need in your future roles. You'll put these skills into practice in preparation for the move into your first management role.
We also expect you to develop business awareness, so you understand the organisation beyond your own functional and geographical areas. In building awareness, you will be better placed to question existing work methods and to suggest ways to bring about positive change. After all, the freedom to discuss and debate is not just good for the soul, it’s good for business. We'll provide you with a receptive audience and the feedback required to accumulate even more knowledge.
We'll monitor your success through consistent and regular performance appraisals. These include formal feedback every six months, and informal feedback every six weeks. This ensures that you're aware of the standards to which you should aim. It also means that we can tailor your development to your needs.
